Jessica Smith, Osmington Bay

Jessica says: I wanted to work outdoors in a fun and active environment and discovered PGL whilst searching on the web. I now teach Field Studies to children aged between 7-18 years, with subject matter including Geography, Geology and Biology.

PGL has given me the experience of teaching children in an outdoor environment. I have also gained a lot of confidence in interacting with people of all different ages and backgrounds and my teaching skills have improved greatly. Working with PGL has made me realise that I want to teach geography and I hope to do a PGCE in Secondary Education next year.

Through PGL I have also gained my basic First Aid certificate and a Fencing qualification with the England Fencing Association.

Osmington Bay is a really beautiful setting to live and work in. I love waking up every morning to see the amazing view and I love living by the sea! PGL gives you the chance to make a real difference in some children’s lives, and it’s a very rewarding and exciting environment to be in. The friends you make at PGL are people that will be your friends for life and I would definitely recommend it to anyone!
