Zoe Bruce, Alton Court

Zoe says: I have worked for PGL for three years now, looking after reservations for five of our smaller centres including Hillcrest in Ross-on-Wye and Tregoyd House in the Brecon Beacons.

I deal with all the administration for these centres which includes handling incoming calls, letters and emails from schools and youth groups as well as making sure that invoices and other paperwork are kept up to date and sent out on time.

I also take bookings, chase payments and assist colleagues and other departments when necessary.

As the role of Reservations Advisor is so varied, I utilise a wide range of skills and also need to be very good at multi-tasking!

I enjoy the challenge that my job brings me on a day-to-day basis. A large part of this comes from successfully retaining our customers and using every opportunity to ensure that our existing groups re-book with us for future years.

With all these things in mind there are regular training and development opportunities and lots of ways that I can progress and grow within PGL.

PGL has a unique culture and provides a friendly and supportive environment, whether you want to progress or just want the ‘simple life.’ Everyone is allowed to be an individual which means fitting in is never difficult. We’re not a conventional company, but that’s definitely a good thing!

Where can I do this job?

Jobs at PGL Head Office

PGL's head office is based on the outskirts of the small riverside town of Ross-on-Wye. The location is significant, as the local River Wye saw PGL's founder (Peter Gordon Lawrence) launch his very first canoe trips from here in 1957.
