Sales Executive

We're looking for an experienced salesperson to join our Head Office team, focusing on the relationship management with our customers who have yet to re-book, to generate profitable repeat sales.

This is an exciting, challenging role comprising the following responsibilities:

  • Proactively chase non-rebookers post travel to secure a forward booking;
  • Work closely with reservations teams (who are responsible for pre-travel retention) to ensure clear communication in rebooking process, using CRM system to log details on customers’ intentions;
  • Monitor the marketplace and act as a key source of customer activity especially regarding price sensitivity and competition;
  • Ensure wherever commercially viable that we do not lose business to competitive activity;
  • Supply customers with any product/pricing information required, e.g. brochure requests, product queries, quotes etc.;
  • Proactively manage long term relationships with groups no longer travelling with PGL to try again for bookings in future;
  • To ensure written complaints are appropriately and effectively responded to;
  • Meet set call targets daily.  meet individual revenue targets;
  • Contribute to departmental revenue targets;
  • To carry out project and research work as and when requested to source potential rebookings.

Administer bookings from point of sale to confirmation:

    • Supply customers with all the information they require regarding their prospective holiday in a timely manner;
    • Handle telephone calls, correspondence and all associated administration for schools and group bookings;
    • Ensure payments are collected in a timely manner by proactively chasing payments and working closely with the reservations teams to send invoices etc.;
    • Provide accurate information about customers to the reservations teams and other internal colleagues/departments in a timely manner;
    • Maintain accurate records of each booking using the computer based systems.

    Develop an in-depth knowledge of PGL products:

    • Attend staff educational visits, training sessions and Teacher Preview events;
    • Attend exhibitions/promotions, as required;
    • Attend Parents Evenings, if requested;
    • Work closely with centre staff and reservations team to ensure knowledge of what we can offer to guests is up to date;
    • Attend regular sales meetings, product launches and training

    Performance Review:

    • Regular assessment will be made of personal performance against agreed objectives and targets;
    • Annual targets will be agreed with Sales Team Leader;
    • Annual Appraisal conducted by the Sales Team Leader.

    PGL's head office is based on the outskirts of the small riverside town of Ross-on-Wye. The location is significant, as the local River Wye saw PGL's founder (Peter Gordon Lawrence) launch his very first canoe trips from here in 1957.
